Folk provides the core of this artist's work, which benefits a great deal from a conservative approach. This way, the songs remain firmly in the forefront where they belong. The sparse arrangements do the generally well-written songs ample justice and Asherton's extraordinary voice is the icing on the cake. Oblivion, An Old Tale and Elsie's Gone Wild are just a few examples.
